Grocery Shopping in NYC
I had underestimated how much grocery I needed for a month when I had gone two or so weeks ago. Looking outside, the weather looked gloomy. Looking at the forecast, tomorrow was a pleasantly sunny day. I’ll go today, I decided, because there will be herds of people outside taking advantage of the sunny and warmer weather, despite the societal pleas to stay inside as much as possible.
Me, Mouse, Quarantine
Into my third week in isolated self-quarantine. I was actually feeling pretty cozy holed up in my apartment. Just working, drawing, writing, cleaning, cooking. It all felt very organic for me. I mean, I missed going outside without fear, meeting up with friends, popping into shops, and all that kind of stuff. But in this time where we need to stay in for the greater good, I didn’t mind so much.
An Apartment on 84th Street
Do you remember the episode of Boy Meets World when Shawn finds a purse and falls in love with the mystery girl, all based upon what she carried in it? Kiwi-mango lip gloss. A book of Sonnets. Van Damme tickets. Guitar pick. Movie candy. Classical music.
The Rhythm of Breakfast
I look forward to preparing breakfast more than actually eating it. Don’t you? The night before, I tuck my book away, close my eyes, and snuggle into the shale-colored linen sheets like a little kid, thinking I can’t wait to make breakfast tomorrow morning! For as long as I can remember, breakfast had always been my least favorite of all the types of meals one could possibly have.
